They are third generation garden retailers here in New York City.  Aspasia Gatanas, born and raised in East Harlem, is the daughter of the founders of Dimitri’s Garden Center – Dimitri and Calliope Gravanis (Picture on left is of Dimitri Gravanis circa 1959 at his 89th St. & Madison Ave. shop).
